How Do I Get
Our volunteer positions require a three-month commitment.
• Volunteers help us staff the Food Pantry during our open hours. So, most of our volunteer shifts are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and are 3 hours long. The shifts are staggered between 12:30 and 4:30 pm.
• We also use volunteers to pick up food donations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before the pantry opens at 2pm.
• We need drivers who can deliver pre-bagged groceries to be delivered to people's door steps. Volunteer must have valid driver's license. Prefer volunteers with own vehicle. However, volunteers can drive the Berkeley Food Pantry van if they have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• We have occasional need for Saturday volunteers between 9:30am and 12:30pm. These positions are one-time volunteer opportunities and do not require a six-month commitment.
To apply for an open volunteer position, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will arrange for you to come into the pantry to learn about the position and to determine if it is a good fit for you.
If our currently open positions do not work for you, or if there are no open positions, please check back from time to time since our need for volunteers changes regularly.
If you would like to be placed on our volunteer waiting list, please email us at email@example.com.
All of our volunteer positions (listed to the left) are open at this time. In addition, please feel free to contact us if you have unique skills to offer or have a large group of volunteers seeking a one-time Saturday opportunity.
Please follow the instructions to the left if you are interested in one of these volunteer positions.
Thank you for your interest
in volunteering for the
Berkeley Food Pantry!
